What is the purpose of enzyme wash?

 The trend today is towards garment processing. This is because garment processing offers the processor better and more varied opportunities to add value to the garments in terms of fashionable looks as well as feel. In such a fast changing scenario, Enzymes are playing an important role. Sulfas Chemical Industries with its in depth knowledge of the Textile and Fashion Industry has a whole range of enzymes to offer to the processor. Enzyme used to match with the desired shade, here enzyme process is done by using Acid or Neutral enzyme. Enzyme process can be medium enzyme, light enzyme, heavy enzyme or stone enzyme.

What is enzyme wash
ENZYME WASH EFFECT

Mainly two types of Enzyme are used:
What is Liquid/Acid Enzyme or Powder/Natural Enzyme?

  1. Liquid Enzyme (Acid Enzyme) is used for take to blue tone.
  2. Powder Enzyme (Natural Enzyme) is used for take to radish tone.

Object of Enzyme wash:

·         To remove the size materials from the garments.

·         To remove the starch presents on the garments fabric.

·         To achieve the high low abrasion (stone affect) on garment and seam abrasion in sewing area.

·         For soft felling to wear the garments i.e to improve softness.

·         To achieve the buyer reference sample/washing standard.

·         To increase the color fastness & rubbing fastness.

·         Especially improve the anti pilling properties.

·         Enzyme attacks more the surface of the fabric and gives a very smooth surface.

·         Develop Bio-Polishing affect on denim in echo friendly way.

The enzyme washing process of batch of 60 kgs denim men’s long pants (Trouser) are described below:-

 First step: Desizing

Lot weight (80 pcs) = 60 kg denim long pant.

Add water @ L:R = 1:9 i.e. 540 liters.

Machine running.

Temperature = 60°c.

Add desizing agent @ = 0.6 gm/liter i.e. 324 gm.

Add detergent @ = 0.8 gm/liter i.e. 432.

Time = 10-20 minutes.

Drop the liquor.

Wash by cold water.

Second step: Enzyme

Add water @ L:R = 1:8 i.e. 450 liters.

Temperature = 45°c.

Add acetic acid @ = 0.6gm/liter i.e. 270 gm.

Add anti back staining @ = 0.6 gm/liter i.e. 270 gm.

Increase temperature to 90°c and run 1 minute.

Drain the bath.

Rinse twice, each 3 minutes.

Third step: Softening

Add water @ L:R = 1:8 i.e. 450 liters.

Add acetic acid @ = 0.6gm/liter i.e. 270 gm.

Cationic softener @ = 1 gm/liter i.e. 450 gm.

Temperature = cold.

Time = 15-20 minutes.

Drain the bath.

Then unload the garments on trolley.

Fourth step: Hydro-extractor machine

After unloading garments from the washing machine then they are sent to hydroextractor machine to remove excess water from the washed garments.
